Brief Description:

This presentation will provide a brief overview of investigation techniques used by current Navy and Marine Corps mishap investigators with specific reference to Capt Vance's experience investigating the 2022 V-22 mishap in Glamis, CA. The goal is to provide insight to CAP first responders as to the entirety of the investigation process.

Capt Connor Vance, USMC, is a graduate of the US Naval Academy, Naval Flight Training, and the Naval School of Aviation Safety. He is a Naval Aviator flying the V-22, completing two combat deployments, first in Iraq and Syria and then throughout the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. He is the VMM-364 Aviation Safety Officer and was the lead investigator in the MV-22 mishap near Glamis, CA in 2022.
