Teaching Runway Safety - NAFI

This presentation provides information on the factors behind General Aviation’s involvement with runway incursions. Available data points to a lack of training, awareness, and knowledge of airport and runway operations.

This presentation highlights the role of CFI/flight schools in runway incursions and the lack of requirements and regulations for training about runway/airport operations.

The FAA’s Air Traffic Organization Safety Service Unit has asked for scenarios to be built as training tools for CFI/Flight schools. This presentation introduces those tools, which will soon be distributed by FAASTeam.
