FlySafe – Overreliance on Automation

Automation can be a life-saver, but overreliance on it can lead you into terrain. Know the technology traps in your flight deck and how to avoid a mishap with automation by reading this month’s Fly Safe message about overreliance on automation at https://medium.com/faa/cfit-and-overreliance-on-automation-48eed783b1e9. Is That My Runway?

“Is that my runway?” is not a question a pilot wants to ask when lining up for departure or arrival. Wrong surface events are a serious risk. To learn how to prevent these cases of mistaken identity and what the FAA is doing to help, read “Is That My Runway?” at https://medium.com/faa/is-that-my-runway-454a45b10889 — in the Nov/Dec 2024 issue of FAA Safety Briefing magazine.
