Brief Description:

In this seminar, Neil Irvin will discuss effective communications techniques, procedures, and requirements.  How radio communications is aviation's weakest link.  He will cover communications and requirements, from both the controller and pilot's point of view.  From the VFR to IFR pilot, how can we accomplish effective phraseology to communicate accurately?

Neil Irvin is a Senior Safety Analyst with NASA’s Aviation Safety Reporting System.  His aviation career began in 1974 with the U.S. ARMY, FAA, Beechcraft, Petroleum Helicopters, several corporations and NASA.  His air traffic career spans 39 years on the radio as an active controller in Control Towers, Oakland ARTCC, and Northern California TRACON.  Neil is also a pilot and flight instructor experienced in many aspects of flying.  As a recipient of the Archie League Medal of Safety, he has assisted in several aircraft saves.?
